I am very happy to have chosen Gozo as the main point of support because surely for what I was looking for, it respected my expectations.
This island is Malta's younger sister, you get there with a pleasant 20-minute ferry boat from which you also catch a glimpse of Comino, in this season desert , famous for the Blue Lagoon of crystal clear water.
The first thing that you can notice in Gozo are the colors: as in the Cyclades the blue and the white prevail here the winning combination is green and yellow, almost an irish green incredibly intense and rare for a place so south, and yellow for the stone with which
everything is built, the globigerina.
This island is still intact and authentic, rural, for the most part cultivated, you can still find the dark caves from where fragrant bread smells and hidden shops without visual windows.
The second thing that immediately catches the eye is the number of huge churches scattered everywhere, sacred images and small chapels symbol of a still deeply felt devotion.
Ta Pinu, for example, is an evocative Marian Sanctuary to the west coast of the island.
Now I present in order of appreciation the places that have left me a sign and I let the pictures speak.
Dwejra Bay
A wild corner to the southwest part of the island, untouched, with imposing cliffs to the peak, rocks eroded by the action of seas and winds, spectacular and hypnotic.
The highlight was the Azure Window but in 2017 it collapsed.
It is possible for 4 euros to cross a passage under the rock with a boat and reach the Blue Hole, especially loved by scuba divers.
The Tower of Dwejra was built in 1652 to guard against pirate or enemy raids, from which a sensational view can be enjoyed.

Ramla Bay
Red beach on the north coast with sand really so soft
at the touch.
To get a picture postcard, climb up left to the Calypso cave.I enjoy thinking that obliviously I'm traveling back Ulysses' journey starting from the Corfu of Nausicaa , visited last May.
Ggantija
The complex of megalithic temples dates back to 3600 BC and is a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1980. It gave me a lot of emotion to visit both the interesting museum tour with videos and explanations of the discovery and restoration of the site and to breathe one of the most ancient places of worship in the world.
Very beautiful are manufacts of formose women,
symbol of fertility.
For example I quote the Maltese language, amalgam of Sicilian and Arabic dialect, in which to invoke the Lord during the Mass the priest tells Alla ..
Would i recommend you visiting Gozo?
Yes, if you are lovers of the nature, of authentic things, maybe taking a jump in the near past.
