The miracle "Aurora"

Aurora, this is the title given to the sonata in C major op. 53 Waldstein.
It couldn't have been more appropriate.
Pure energy pervades its almost 25 minutes, a new dawn of timbre sounds that exploit all the potential of the modern piano.
Incredible to think that the testament of Heiligenstadt was already written (1802) and Beethoven condemned to the most serious of infirmities for the development of his art, deafness.
Yet the vitality it transmits is rampant.

The first theme of Allegro con brio starts with chords thrown into the low register, as Casella says "sounds that belong more to noise than to music", an indefinite magma from which sometimes a sharp gleam echoes.
The second theme instead always in accord, but lyrical, choral, tied and expressive. Incessantly, scales, arpeggios, triplets, octaves follow one another.
The development first elaborates short flicks of sound, then repeats in various harmonic laps strenuous broken chords descending. In addition to the objective technical difficulty, the goal is to sublimate everything and make it musical expressiveness.

The Adagio brings us inner a lot, it is a profound meditation, one of the heartfelt Beethovenian appeals of our soul in search of God.

There is no wait, at the end of the Adagio the Rondo starts again after a 'corona' of dominant.
A pure theme in C major will be re-presented and varied 3 times, with virtuous agility and ample sonorities. Often Beethoven marks the use of the pedal along various beats and suggests timbres that pave the way for much bolder avant-garde sounds.
Finally, it flows into a Prestissimo, an impetuous cascade of notes, which between the last arpeggios and octaves in speed sublimes our theme over a continuous trill, all in the right hand.

I don't think there is a sonata richer in enthusiasm, youthful energy, positivity.
 It releases freshness and vitality.
I rejoice when I feel it vibrate under my fingers and I take on its pure and pulsating overwhelming force.
 Thanks Beethoven!
